Hello from Olympia, Washington, USA
Hi All
I'm 28, I'm currently employed as a bar manager, I play drums in a rock and roll band, I ride a fixed gear bicycle, and I'm about to purchase a boat.
Boating runs in my family, and I'm the first in 3 generations not to be a fisherman. And I still don't really want to be a fisherman, but I'm starting to realize I shouldn't have been denying my love of the water for this long. So I'm going to be purchasing a 26 - 36 ft sailboat in the next few months.
I can't wait to see you on the water. And, to ask questions about boating cause I'm new.
Thanks -
-Ian

Wow Ian...a fixed gear bicycle....cool.
Welcome to the forum.
Looking forward to hearing about what boat you buy.
Good luck on the hunt...its a buyers market to be sure!

Hi Ian and welcome to the forum. I won't elaborate, but somehow I suspect that managing a bar and playing drums in a rock and roll band should help prepare you for owning your first boat.
Cheers!

Hi Ian,
Welcome from another newbie. We're on Anderson Island, so not too far from you.
Looks like you found a good forum. I've already had some questions answered here... seems like quite a few knowledgeable folks frequent this site.
Again, welcome.

Howdy from a fellow Olympian.
It's a small town and I drink too much so I probably know you already. What bar do you manage?
Went sailing on my San Juan 28 in Budd Inlet last night; 25knts sustained gusting over 30 a few times. It was exciting.
If you want to go out some time, drop me a line.

Whoa, this is rad, thanks for the warm responses from everyone.
Arch - I'm at QB. You come in often? I'm the new guy, but I'm there a lot. I also used to work at OCR if you're a coffee drinker. And f yes, I would love to go out sometime!
