Joining to gain some familiarity with the sailing community. Have not sailed since my youth and that was inland waters on small craft. I have always loved the tranquility and have convinced my wife to take some sailing classes with me next year. ☺️

Great. Welcome. Highly recommend Great Lakes Sailing in Traverse City. Nice people, good instructors, great location if you want to learn close to home.
Typical class is 4 student who can also share the boat as their accommadations for the class. Convince another couple to join you for the adventure.

Thanks for the recommendation! That was the outfit I was planning on contacting to arrange instruction. We are only an hour or so from TC so it is a good fit for us to travel to.
