Hello from North Idaho

Hello,

I am from Sandpoint, in the far north Idaho Panhandle. British Columbia is just 45 miles away. Think big lakes, forests and mountains. At least a couple times a year we run away to the sea. The Caribbean and Greece have been our favorite spots thus far.

Thank you to the multihull sailors who helped me with my latest boat decision! The issues you brought up helped me avoid several pitfalls. I bought the Moorings 4600, a slightly upgraded version of the Leopard 46. I enjoyed the Lagoons as well, but the 46 really appealed to me.

My particular likes are multihulls, navigation software and computers, family sailing, great shell finds, and quiet anchorages.

See you sailing!
Chip

Welcome, Chip! Hope you enjoy participating in the Forum. Is your Moorings 4600 in charter. Where is she based?

Welcome Aboard:

Are you sailing the boat on Lake Courdelaine or ponderay (sp?) or is it in charter.

Hi Hud,

She is currently in construction. She will be delivered in late September and will be at Road Town, Tortola. Well, except when we are aboard and then she could be anywhere........ Oh yes, and she will be available for charter.

Boy, I wish I could put her on Pend Oreille!!! Unfortunately, we really don't have facilities for a boat with her beam (almost 25') and our roads are not capable of dealing with her either. So into the ocean she goes. Tortola in the BVI. We have decided to put her in charter.

Hi John,
I read your blog and it is certain that we have Greece in common. We sailed a Lagoon 380 there in May 2006. What a beautiful country. We sailed around and explored the western Cyclades (Serifos, Sifnos...) and Crete. Still planning to do the Sporades, but will have to wait for the dollar to float up.
Thanks,
Chip
