I've been reading the forums here on and off for a few years. My younger brother got me started thinking about cruising when he mentioned a cruising lifestyle as something he may pursue in retirement.

My boating experience involves smaller craft on lakes and rivers, fishing, pulling waterskiers, and just puttering around. From sailboards, paddleboards, and canoes up to smaller cabin cruisers. Some very remote areas like Lake of the Woods and Lake Vermillion and some more crowded like Minnetonka.

Thinking of taking some sail training on a 30' yacht on Lake Superior as a next step.

I also SCUBA dive.

Hello Jammer. As a onetime resident of St Paul I sailed all the lakes you mentioned plus Lakes Peppin, Harriet, Como, White Bear and Superior in a 16' Sunbird trailer sailer. So I understand, cruising dreams help keep you warm.
