Hello from Miami FL

Hello all! I'm a new member in the Miami area. Im also very new to sailing and jumped in with both feet. On a 1982 Pearson 365 sloop that I have been working on and repairing, while also living on the boat the past 2 months. I almost have the boat ready to take out on the water for the first time after I take some classes and get certified. It's been a rough going, never having owned a boat before. But the dream is alive and strong and trying to reach my goals and fulfill this crazy dream of living on a sailboat.

Re: Hello from Miami FL

Welcome, Robots. That sounds like a good situation in which to take one or more experienced local sailors with you for some first day sails. Miami is a bit complicated, particularly with the chart work, and with lots of opportunities to sail into YouTube "Idiot of the Week" shows or even the Eye Witness 11:00 News. Yes on the courses, but practical coaching on your rig and your piloting would be hard to beat and fun as well.
