Hello from Matagorda, TX

Long time boat owner with moderate sailing skills. I'm looking for friends that are into sailing and currently shopping for a liveaboard.

Welcome... "Map" master?

On the water, "maps" are called charts.

Please illuminate us on your name choice. Is there a cool story attached? Are you a cartographer perchance? The Forum could definitely use one of those!

Welcome aboard!
Warmly,
LittleWing77

Re: Hello from Matagorda, TX

The name MapMaster comes from my education and much of my career. I have a Bachelors Degree in Geography and spent much of my career working with GIS - Geographic Information Systems, building smart digital maps for Oil and Gas leasing and Pipelines.
I look forward to learning Marine navigation charts and already have a good feel for using bearings, triangulation, intersection and resection from my experience in the Army. I don't know it all but I'm happy to share my knowledge if others need help.
Thank you for the warm welcome!

Right on!

Wow, good guess. When does that ever happen?

Well, get yourself out there sailing, MM! Make haste!
