Hello from Greece
Hi to all of you
I have just registered, hoping to find new, nice forum. Up to today, I have only posted in german speaking forums and I do hope, you do not mind, if I make too many mistakes
My husband, my dog and I are living on our catamaran in the med since 1994.
I am looking forward to nice talks to other sailors all over the oceans
kind regards
Chili

Hi Chili,
I'm from Israel, also first time here. Got my skipper's licence a year ago, and since then sailing from time to time with my family in Haifa Bay, (I'm a member of a sailing club, so I can use the club's yacht from time to time). We dream of sailing in our yacht in the med as you do.
do you spend all your time in Greece? or in other countries too?
Greetings
Moshe

Hi Moshe,
since 94, we live in the med. in this time, we spent 3 years in the balearics, 3 years in turkey, some cruising just around and now we are the 5th year in GR, but the plan goes to Italy (need another sky )
the med has changed dramatically in this last 13 years, getting crowded and unaffortable expensive... but we have to make the best out of it

Welcome Aboard Chili! Greece is one of the places that I am really looking forward to sailing one day. Just from what I have seen on travel shows, it looks incredibly beautiful and it would be hard for another country to beat its history.
We don't have nuns walking around slapping hands for grammar or spelling errors...so don't worry about it. Just say whatever comes to mind...no worries.

Hi Chili,
We are from California, but we are just beginning to sail in the Med. We just entered and are in southern Spain for the winter. Then the Balearics & Italy this year. Then Greece next year. So we will watch for you!
see you sometime,
Jim

Hi to all of you,
thank you very much for the warm welcome. for those of you, who want to sail the western med (and of course aswell turkey....) have a look on my homepage, we have made pilots on cd-rom, which might be of interest to you (if I may say this here ??)
yes, indeed, GR is wonderful, but if you are free in your planings, do NOT go to the ionian in july and august, because in these months, it is very very overcrowded and you hardly will find quiet bays. All are overfilled with italian sailors, english charterers (flottillas) and greece big ( really BIIIIIG) motoryachts coming from Athen.

Aloha Chili,
Welcome aboard! I've only sailed the Med on Navy ships so haven't seen it on a personal basis. Hope you enjoy this forum.
Kind Regards,

Hello Chilli,
Welcome to one of the best yachting forums that I have come accross.
I spent 3 years based in Zea Marina, Piraeus working on other peoples yachts from 1970 to ,73, I have very fond memories from those times, Would like to sail there again, I don't miss the Meltemi's though.
