Hello from Galveston, TX

Great to finally be a member - I have been reading up on this forum for way too long without joining!

We have been fitting out our boat here in Galveston TX for about 4 1/2 years for some extended cruising and will really appreciate the good knowledge that can be found here.

Greetings to all and cheers
Cory and Ovi Sacasan

Welcome to the group!
What marina do you berth at in Galveston? Hope to get up there in June, before hurricane season.
Bob

We are moving to Corpus Christi this year (from Kansas) and we plan a sail up to visit later on once we are settled in at home.

Hi bobfnbw
We are at Payco marina. Sadly, the marina was destroyed during hurricane Ike so there are no facilities here except for running water. Almost like living on the hook... Galveston yacht service is up and operating and has plenty of good berths with all the utilities. Let us know if we can be of any assistance...

Cheers

Yeah, Ike did a lot of damage there... we thought it would hit here... but we got lucky.
Unfortunately, Galveston and Houston is a hurricane magnet...
If I can get our boat ready, we have 3 weeks in June for some cruising the Texas gulf coast... We have friends and fond memories of Clear lake area.

Give us a call when you are heading this way. Clear Lake is also tough with slips because of Ike damaging a lot of marinas. However, if you are just anchoring out let us know.....Hope your projects are coming along well, weather and all.....

Regards

Thanks!
Not sure yet where or what the itinerary will be. Not even sure the boat will be ready by then. Spent all day today, and didn't seem to get much done....
