Hello from Edgewater/Annapolis, MD

Hello all,

New to sailing but not to the sea. Grew up in Florida around motorboats, then 20 years in the Navy, with 11 on submarines and the other 9 on tiny patrol boats and "brown water" ops on the beach. Living in Edgewater now, I've owned a motorboat for the last few years and I'm at least semi-conversant with the local rivers. I've been from the Carribean, to Europe, and I've stood on the North Pole.

I am reading all the books I can lay my hands on and I'm lining up a sailing course for the Spring.

My boat is an un-named '69 Coronado 25 sailboat, #1137. Only 2 owners, and the last owner only had her for 3 years. I have a private slip, easy walking distance from the house so I can keep up on maintenance.

I'm VERY interested in meeting experienced, local sailors willing to share their knowledge of general sailing, the local waters, local history, so feel free to PM me.

Cheers,

Rich A.

Aloha and Welcome aboard!
I'm not a local in the Chesapeake but can recommend that you join the Naval Sailing Association and take some of their courses if you are close enough to Annapolis.
Retired right? Thanks for your service.
regards,

Thanks SkiprJohn, I'll look into that, I hadn't heard of the NSA.
