Hello from Burnt Store Marina

I have been reading Cruisers Forum blogs for quit some time and now very happy to report I am the new Skipper of a Hunter 450 Passage. I have named her SAILUTE. I purchased her from a Captain that lived in the Uk and had her moored in Ft Lauderdale. Last weekend with the help of a Captain I hired we moved her to our new home at Burnt Store Marina, Florida. I don’t have much experience at sailing and am very anxious to learn. I’m looking for any opportunity to expand my knowledge and get some experience.
Happy Sailing and
SAILUTE

Re: Hello from Burnt Store Marina

Did you move her from Ft. Lauderdale to Burnt Store? If so what route did you take?

Welcome. I am in a similar boat. Eclectic sailing experience over a lifetime, but want to deepen it now

We sailed down to Marathon where we crossed into the gulf under 7 mile bridge then dodging all the crab traps came up the coast to Charlotte Harbor. We dropped anchor at Marathon for about 8 hours to replace a broken fan belt on the motor, just about the only spare part not on board. The whole trip was 52 hours

Great trip! I thought maybe you went through the canal with the mast down.

Congratulations on your new boat!
