Hello from Arizona....

Yes...I know....Arizona isn't exactly the sailing hot spot of the world.....but it is HOT! I am new to the site and I am enjoying all the material here and the
topics available to help me learn a lot of new things. I look forward to making
new contacts and I hope to get to chat with fellow members. Now...I am off
to find a place to post my first question.

Hey CatJohn. You're not all that far from the Sea Of Cortez and there is good sailing there.

I used to race Hobies out of San Felipe.

Tell us a bit more about your self, maybe even flesh out your profile.

George

George,
Thanks for the reply. You are right....S of C isn't too far.....I am really just starting to learn.....not a "real sailor"....I am nearing retirement and I am hoping to learn enough to spend some time in the BVI area with my wife.......she is still trying to decide if sailing is her "cup of tea". I will work on filling out the profile.....hope to hear from you again.

Aloha John,
Welcome aboard! Good to have you here. You'll find lots of folks here that are into multihulls so ask the questions and I'll bet you get all kinds of answers.
Kind regards,
JohnL

Welcome! You will find this site very useful. My husband and I have the same plan. We leave in January and are heading to the BVI's. When shopping for boats I suggest you take her to a boat show so she can check out all that is available. It is also a great way to check out monohuls and catamarans side by side. We did this prior to purchasing our boat. It 'sold' me. Keep in mind that I had very little sailing experience prior to purchsing the boat. My husband, on the otherhand, has sailed since he was a child. Has your wife been cruising on a catamaran? We have a Catana 401 and love it! Assuming she drinks wine, it is really great to be under sail and be able to set down your wine glass without spilling!!!!!
