My name is Mark, I live in Lincoln UK,
work in Taif, Saudi Arabia, holiday / will retire to Akbuk, near Didim, SW
Turkey on Aegean coast. Wanted to build / buy a
boat in KSA and sail it out of Jeddah (2-3 hrs drive away), but company and KSA red-tape has put paid to that. However, I still want to sail the Aegean in my
retirement. Sue, my wife, and I have a small holiday villa in the small port resort of Akbuk, near Didim (new mega-marina). I hope to glean lots of cruising info from the forum and recount my experiences leading up to 'living the dream' in our
retirement. We also have a x-breed goldieXcollie called Paddy who will be coming with us on our journey to and through retirement. Currently taking RYA basic
Navigation And Seamanship course online. Hope to have many hours of fun and
learning through this site. My original profession is aircraft engines and airframe systems
maintenance engineer, so any help I can give to others related to my experiences, I will gladly pass on. No
boat yet, but lots of experiences gained in the British Army. My first boat I wish to name 'Alma-Sue', after my mum and wife.
