Hello everyone

I'm a newbie to this site. My family and I sail a Morgan OI 41 out of Kadena Marina, Okinawa Japan. We are marking time until my son finishes school, junior now, and then we are going "out there"

Welcome aboard "in here" newbie! Japan must be an exotic place to sail. Tell us some more about it please.

Yeah! I'd like to hear about Okinawa too! I've considered swinging by there some day.

And welcome aboard!

Aloha Horizon,
Last time I was in Okinawa was aboard a Navy Cruiser. Navy and Marines never enjoyed a good reputation with the local population. I didn't cause the rift but am truly sorry.
Would like to hear how the marina is and how much it might cost in U. S. dollars.
Kind Regards,
JohnL

Re Okinawa

Thanks for the kind greetings.... We are on the hard undergoing a refit. Should be in the drink about early May. Okinawa is subtropical with some of the best diving in the world. The sailing is not too bad either. We are in the deathly grip of our two weeks of winter... temp dipped in the low 60F range...

That's where we all are going sooner or later. It might be crowded but we can all move over for you. Welcome to Cruiser Forum.

Thumbs up

Hi Paul..... there is still plenty of room on this side of the world. Cruisers in Japan are few and far between...
