I’ve been following your threads and reading your stories for a couple of years, but we’ve recently upgraded our last
racing dinghy to our first coastal cruiser, so I thought I’d better join proper, as my questions and comments are far less theoretical than they once were!
Between charters and our new (to us)
boat, we’ve spent about about a month and a half afloat this year- almost all of it on the
Puget Sound. With flexible jobs, we hope to
cruise the summers for the next few years until our oldest (a good sailor, but even more devoted soccer player) heads to college. Then we plan to transition from mostly ashore to mostly afloat, and to cruising full time as soon as we can manage it, younger
kids and all.
We’re looking forward to actually interacting with you all, instead of just reading. Despite sailing small
boats nearly my whole life, I may have a lot of dumb questions that seem obvious to those of you who have spent a lifetime on
boats big enough to carry berths and auxiliaries
