Hello and advice request

Hi, glad to be aboard! I’m an experienced daysailer (26’ keelboat) and just completed US Sailing cruising and bareboat certification on a 44’ monohull with my partner. What would you recommend as bareboat sailing destinations for our skill level? We live in the San Francisco Bay Area and also have family in Florida and NY. Also would you suggest individual boat, or flotilla? Thanks, Phil

Re: Hello and advice request

Welcome.

I would suggest updating your profile with your general location and your boat make & model or “Looking” in the "Boat" category. This info shows up under your UserName in every post in the web view. Many questions are boat and/or location dependent and having these tidbits under your UserName saves answering those questions repeatedly. If you need help setting up your profile then click on this link: https://www.cruisersforum.com/forums...ml#post3308797

I would happily help more if the link above is not enough.

Welcome aboard Phil! I guess if it were me I'd start with exploring the SF bay and maybe going up into the Delta too. Maybe out the gate and up to Bolinas or Drake's Bay when you get more confident and learn the finer points of entering/exiting the Bay? Good luck in your adventures!

Hi Phil...Welcome to the forum. Not sure what is going on with chartewring and Covid. Maybe see if Latitude 38 has any charter ads.

Re: Hello and advice request

PhilfromCa I would suggest checking out some of the charter/sailing club in the bay area. The BVI and USVI are good charter locations with easy sailing. Mooring and sun sail has a few bases there.
