My partner, Jon, bought our 42ft Moody three years ago and renamed her "Pavati". We've been living on her permanently since then. She was initially moored in Poole and then we hopped down the SW coast as far as Fowey our first summer and then we spent the
winter in Southdown Marina near Plymouth - a place we can recommend for its friendliness. We spent the next summer in and around Falmouth, spending much of our time moored up the River Truro and treating ourselves in Mylor and Falmouth from time to time. Back to Southdown for the
winter again with a plan to go over to Brittany and the South
West coast of
France the following summer, but unfortunately a
medical problem of mine flared up a few weeks before we were going to set off and it ended up with me having to have an operation which I eventually had in November last year so we had rather a frustrating summer hanging around for appointments and a date for the op. I'm glad to say that my op has been extremely successful and well worth the wait.
2011 and now we are looking forward to going over to
France and maybe spending a year there and then who knows - maybe on to
Spain and
Portugal or further afield or back to
England for a while. Jon is early retired and wants to go exploring!
Anyway, we are very pleased to have joined the Forum and look forward to reading the Threads. We've had a lot of helpful replies to ours already.
