Hello

So 3rd summer just completed 3-5 weeks per summer cruising with two kids, Corsica Sardinia and today back from Elba, Giglio and down to Rome.

Boat: Oceanis 311.

As I’m cruising I think up loads of questions that sound dumb but really need answering.

Insights from this year:
-Italian charts and books are hard to come by outside ITALY. Paper charts are even hard to find in Italy. But there are very good anchorage and port guides available.

-Italian anchorage are busy and made more dangerous by swimmer zones that extend far beyond where most people swim.

-Elba is Awsome

- Rome is very cool especially Ostia Antica not far from marina at mouth of Tiber.

- Sardinia ( last year ) is much busier than Tuscan archeleligo. Sardinia last year a veritible storm of wake waves from super yachts blasting busily in all directions. Especially those horrid sub 70ft drive-yourself power boats Italians love so much.

- Giglio has difficult anchorages. Steep ledges out to sleep watr, Nearly lost boat.

- the quieter spots along the Italian coast between Argentario are deserted.

Nice to meet you all.
