Hello

Hi I just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Mike and I'm a disabled veteran if 12 years in the Army. I just recently bought a 22' Catalina that I live on and plan giving the boat some much needed TLC. I've been traveling for going in 5 years now and figured I'd give sailing a shot. I've done some sailing before and liked it. I'm also an avid kayaker and fisherman. Hoping to make sone new friends here. I'm also a diesel mechanic if anyone is the same area as me that needs help. I'm currently ⚓ off of Sneed island in Bradenton Florida.

Welcome aboard and thanks for your service. There's a lot to do in the Bradenton area.

Thanks, I won't be doing much but anchoring for till January till I get my next VA check. After paying for the boat and registration and supplies for the month and no dingy I'll just enjoy the weather and water.

Re: Hello

Welcome aboard Toad, lots of us vets here and a generally great vibe! (Just don't start discussions on anchors, composting heads, guns on board...) West Coast of Florida is sounding really good right now, winter has just arrived here in the Med. I've chartered a Catalina 22: nice boat, plenty of room for a solo live aboard not minding things a bit spartan! Enjoy the adventure and hope your checks continue coming regularly.
