Now that is quite a view! The really nice thing (when not working) is the calm and peacefullness of the enviroment. But I'm sure that can become too much as well. Change is good!!!

What Time zone are you in way down there??? A real meaning to "Down Under"

The day starts on the East Coast of NZ ( Gisborne ) and the top right of Russia. Because it is summer in the South the sun comes up first on 01 January in NZ. I think around 10 to four. There are some small islands to the East of NZ that changed from the last hour of the day, to the first hour of the day for the Y2K thing. Chatham Island is one of them I think. But NZ is the first sizable chunk of land to get the sun on the first day of the year. With the NZ part of Antartica almost directly below NZ I assume they are on the same time zone as NZ.

That's right. I'm a Kiwi with the US programme but the station is in the NZ time zone. A conspiracy to make it hard for the bureaucrats back in Washington & Denver to contact us
