Hans Christian (Windvane) Question

Dear Sailors,

I have a 43' HC Ketch. I'm getting the boat ready for extended cruising. I want an windvane. My boat is configured with a pushpit and it has a mizzen. Does anyone have experience with vanes that work best and fit best with my model boat?

Appreciate your thoughts.

Thanks

Aloha Nepenthe,
Welcome Aboard!! I don't have an answer for your question but I do know that there is a Hans Christian Forum and they might be able to tell you.
Kind Regards,
JohnL

Thanks. I'm aware of that forum as well but it's not working very well these days and I thought I'd ask around. I'm leaning towards a Cape Horn vane. Love to hear what others thought about this vane.

Re: Hans Christian (Windvane) Question

Hi there - we had a HC 43T and I installed a Cape Horn vane. It fits the HC 43 incredibly well and is such an elegant solution. You can lead the control lines up into the helm seat for an invisible cockpit installation. We sailed from NY to Sydney and it was the best piece of kit we purchased. Solid, quality gear.
