Thumbs up Greetings to All - Live Aboard

My name is Alecha, also known as ladyluck. I have been a live aboard cruiser for almost a year now... No matter how much I learn, I find there is so much more to know.I'm Living aboard in the sunny state as of now. My partner and I are planning to cruise to Central America, all the stops between and likely beyond. We have been planning our trip for over a year, but as all you cruisers know... you can never set a true date of departure lol!
Ed & I are always looking to make new friends and will surely need some advice along the way... I am glad to be aboard your forum.

Let me be the first to say, "welcome to the board". Hope you enjoy the bunch we have here. They can be characters, all seem to have a sense of humor and some are just downright intelligent beyond what we all deserve to be!

Welcome one and all.

Aloha and welcome to the forum...I take it the sunny state must be Fl. We are just finishing up with our monsoon season. You have a nice boat for voyaging.

Thanks from the Brady Bunch

Thank you all for the comments. We have yet to make it out of the country due to the economy and all that is going on else where. I/we are still living aboard. We have a new addition to the family. Our two dogs have gained a feathered sister. She is my pride and joy. 14 week old Congo African Gray. That brings our family to 5... and with my love of animals, well, you just never know. It makes travel a bit more of a task... But when you look into those little eyes that all is soon disregarded. We have been living aboard for over a year now. Summer is the best, but can be dreadfully hot. It is amazing how you adapt to the weather changes and your senses tune into the wind and rain. Though it can be an emotional struggle for adjustment from time to time... It's the feeling of freedom, the beauty and serenity that comes over you again and again in the tranquility of the sea. Its amazing how she can get into you somehow.

In your first post you said "you can never set a true date of departure".

Thats why you are still where you are!

Set a departure date and PULL UP THE ANCHOR!

Then you will be gone

There is one phrase that cruisers use that I have found to be a load of Bunkum... 'bunkum' is similar to Codswallop..... "We have no plans and we're sticking to them."

No plans means you can never achieve anything... even going... So what you really need is a goal. When you set goals you can achieve them. You can't achieve nothing.

We are out on the oceans with a plan and goals to have a great life meeting new people of different cultures and lots of cruisers whilst seeing the world. We would LOVE to meet you! So get a leaving date and come and join us

Mark
