Greetings! Green Newby from Bakersfield, CA...Ready to Learn Sailing!

Hello everyone! You're probably wondering what a guy from the middle of California is doing here on this forum.

Even though I was born and raised in the Mojave Desert, I have a love for the ocean, and especially the ships and boats that ply the waters.

I have been lucky enough to come into contact with people that have owned sail boats, and have invited me out for a day of sailing. Unfortunately, it never worked out, so my dreams of learning to sail have gone unrealized.

I have also been reading Richard Henry Dana's TWO YEARS BEFORE THE MAST, and have taken a keen interest in sailing, especially along the California coast.

I would love for someone to "take me under their wing" and tell me about sailing, and some good resources for me to get started on. I am a blank slate...but I have a hear that wants to learn!

I enjoy getting to know you all, and have a wonderful day!

Regards,
Bryan aka elephantparty
