Greetings from Steamboat Springs, Colorado

My wife and I are empty nesters, looking to purchase a boat to live and cruise on, possibly Spain. Lots to learn, the only sailing experience is catamarans (small). Looking for a life change boats, languages see the world, culture all that good stuff.

Our thought something between 45 and 55 feet, a cruiser style comfortable boat, ketch????

Thanks
Jeff & Grace

Aloha Jeff and Grace,
Welcome aboard! My advice is look at some boats a bit smaller but you can search on here for all kinds of opinions on the forum.
Kind regards,
JohnL

Hi Jeff & Grace,
We became empty nesters a couple of years ago....and bought a boat...and are now cruising in Spain! It's a great life...go for it. We love it! (our third year). And Spain is wonderful, but so are many countries in Europe.

Remember in Europe many of the ports are very old (some built by the Romans!) and having a boat over 12 meters (39 feet or so) restricts some of you choices.
