Hello all! I just discovered this forum and it certainly looks like a friendly place to hang. I am a relatively 1-year new sailor who is kicking himself that he didn't start sooner! I sail out of Newport Beach through a sailing club. Seems like I am always looking for sailing buddies every time I want to get out on the water. Hopefully I can make some great friends here!

Hi Hud, Thanks for the welcome! I sailed a bit as a kid in the Midwest and getting back into it now so joining a club seemed like the sensible way to go. I have many friends who own boats and I see the reality of ownership so the club made a whole lot of sense to me when starting back. But then, I must admit I am already looking at sailboats to own! Somebody better slap me!

Aloha Rick,
I sailed with a club for many years before buying my first boat. It was a great experience and really made my decision on what to buy very much easier.
