Greetings from Singapore

Hi everyone,

I am Chris from Singapore. I have gotten into boating for a year and half, mostly into powerboating and fishing. I have been reading a lot from this forum and it has benefitted me a lot.

My wife has led me into sailing recently and I absolutely love the green and idyllic way of moving the boat through water now. Too stressful at high speed.

Love when my kids are out in the water; No ipads, computers and chair bound activities. My family is going on weekly basis to swim, sun and sand to appreciate what nature can provide.

I am also searching for a suitable catamaran for sailing and liveaboard; if you know someone who is willing to part with a good one.

I wish all a Happy New Year and great wishes come true this year. Stay safe.

Re: Greetings from Singapore

Hello Chris

I'm also Chris and also in Singapore. I may have more experience than you though so certainly no more enthusiasm. You are lucky to have been introduced to sailing by your wife, since many members here would likely to admit to having spent many years trying to introduce their wives to sailing..

I have a cruising cat at One15 but I don't know of any currently on the market here. You might consider a trip to Langkawi to view what's available there. I found my ideal cat in Europe and shipped it to Singapore. Let me know if you want any advice or opinion..

Re: Greetings from Singapore

Happy New Year 2015!!

Chris in SG, nice to hear from you. The enthusiasm level is good now; survived through of the whores in owning my powerboat like changing new engine, half submerged boat, slipped propeller, renovate interior, rewiring, selecting transmission, repainting boat and the list is endless.

I must say I have totally got no experience getting a boat from elsewhere. I have contacted a few brokers from around asia and hopefully they can give me some ideas.

I am pretty determined to get a CAT and keeping my finger crossed and if God permits, get my dream fulfilled.
