Greetings from SC

I've never been sailing or done any kind of sea travel, but I have come to a stage in my life and cannot sit behind a desk anymore. I love the outdoors too much and it's something I've always wanted to do. I come here seeking knowledge first and foremost followed by new friends and maybe opportunities. Thank you.

Welcome to the forum. You'll gain a lot of knowledge here.

If you are anywhere near Charleston there will be lots of sailing opportunities. City Marina, just south of the first bridge on the Ashley River, would be a good place to start. Go down and check the bulletin board at the dock office, walk around, talk to people, etc. You'll end up getting lots of good information and may even be invited out for a sail. Try to get hooked up with one of the local racing fleets. Sailboat racers are always looking for crew and experience is not always needed if you don't mind being shifting ballast at first.
