If you are anywhere near Charleston there will be lots of sailing opportunities. City Marina, just south of the first bridge on the Ashley River, would be a good place to start. Go down and check the bulletin board at the dock
office, walk around, talk to people, etc. You'll end up getting lots of good information and may even be invited out for a sail. Try to get hooked up with one of the local racing
fleets. Sailboat racers are always looking for crew and experience is not always needed if you don't mind being shifting ballast at first.
