Hi! My name is Bridget. My partner, Brian and I live in Portland, Oregon . We're sailing on the Columbia most weekends in a Cal 22, and starting to look for our first live-aboard.

I happen to be in Portland myself, visiting relatives for Christmas. I am guessing that sailing here was a pretty tough sport prior to the invention of Gore-Tex!

It's pretty bad from November to Feb., but here in the PNW, if you wait until it's dry, You won't sail until the 4th of July!

Bridget, welcome aboard. I use to have a GF named Bridget when I went to Washington HS just off of SE Stark St. back in the 60's. But I'm sure you're not her.

Welcome aboard Bridget. Me and my lovely wife have our boat moored in Portland. Lots of great boat people on Portland. You should check put Oregon women's sailing association. You will meet lots of ladies that sail all over the pnw.

Welcome aboard were up stream on the Columbia in the dry weather, only 8 inches of rain a year and it's been 60 and sunny lately. Happy New Year

I was originally an Oregonian. I know lots of people think it rains a bit there but not nearly so much as where I live now. We got over 20 inches of rain in December.
Happy sailing. I seem to see lots of bargain boats there on craigslist. The last one I noticed was a Cascade 29 for 4K.
