Greetings from NZ

Hello all,
My wife and I cruise locally in a Cavalier 39 yacht, usually accompanied by our smelly old dog. With early retirement beckoning we are going for full time coastal cruising for a year or two and then perhaps futher afield. It is evident that we have joined a valuable resource and look forward to tapping into the collective wisdom of all you 'old salts' out there.

Regards, Joke & Chris

Hey mate!. There are a few kiwi's here. Gmac from Auckland?, Seafox from Mana and Me in the Sounds. It's Great to have some more Kiwi support, and someone that will get out Kiwi sense of humour:-)
Cheers.

G'day Joke & Chris,

Come to join the good company and piles of wisdom found here.

All the best and please excuse me a moment while I have a small but important grizzle at our southern compardre. Too much snow again I think

Wheels - Auckland is full of nasty silly JAFA people with delusions of grandure. I'm in NZ's 4th largest city which is not Auckland. Think North Shore babe. We have never lost the Ranfurly Shield but Auckland has

Opps better not mention Rugby with Bob Norson from over in the West Island listening

Mind you we don't have an ex MP who got his bottom bitten by a spider or a current MP who talks about his dangly bits. I think I can see why Joke & Chris are looking at cruising off some where

Don't feel sorry for our ex MP - feel sorry for the spider! I can't imagine anything more off-putting than nipping Winston's bum..
And yes, I have to admit that whereas I live in Tauranga, NZ's most beautiful and alluring city, my boat lives in Auckland which makes me a sort of half-jafa. Got to admit that the sailing's a lot better up there than down here in the Bay of Plenty.
Thankyou all for your warm welcome to the forum.

Joke + Chris

chrisc, if youre keeping your boat in aukland, you should look up my buddy donna lange. her southern cross 28, inspired insanity, is hauled out there for a quick refit on a one stop solo circumnavigation. she's a very interesting lady and is looking for friends down your way. knowing donna, she won't be too hard to find, she soaks up local culture like a sponge, making friends wherever she travels..donnalange.com for her website.

Little Boat, Is Donna back in our Country???

I didn't hear that Winston got bitten by a spider. Now that's funny :-)) Last I heard it was a Mosquito. Typical Winston. Oh well, he didn't cover his Butt enough this time huh;-) ;-))
Hey I thought Dorklanders claimed their City as from Wellington to top of the North? ;-)

Joke & Chris, welcome aboard. It's always nice to have more Kiwis around to poke fun at Get a few more of ya together and plan an invasion. I will be happy to join that party
Hey little boat! Haven't seen ya in awhile. Yep, Donna is back in NZ, Fighting off a cold last I heard. She sounds great otherwise. With any luck she will have SSB communications this time. The radio is in hand, and awaiting installation

Well tell Donna to drop in here as often as she can and if she needs anything, maybe between us as a network, we can help her out. Especially us Kiwi's. It's amazing what us kiwi blokes have in our sheds.

Tauranga

I used to live there in 1967 / 68, worked at the auto upholstery shop, rented a flat from the chiropracter. Also shared a place at Mount Manganui.

Michael,
You wouldn't recognise the place now. We have high rise buildings and traffic jams. Some may call it progress, but, I dunno...
