Welcome to the nuthouse er Cruisers Forum that is. NE FL as in Jax/St Augustine area? I'm in G'ville and will be moving the boat down this fall. Thinking about docking in the St Johns.
Safe sailing,
Skip

We currently live in Jacksonville and keep our boat at Fleming Island Marina on the St. Johns River. Thats in Orange Park just south of Jacksonville. Any ideas yet where you will be staying on the St. Johns?
Thanks for the welcome.

Hi R&D,
Still shopping for a spot. Looking for something cheap and as close to home as possible. Just bought the boat and it will need a good bit of TLC to get it back to looking good, so the shorter the commute the better.
Was on the waiting list at Green Cove Springs but much of their dock space was condemned and will be out of commission for about a year while the pilings are replaced. They do have moorings which might work and are only $150/month.
So what's the deal at Fleming Island for a slip and do they have space?

Hello to both of you. Would've been great if you had known about the N.E. Florida Spring Fling. Never to late to sign up for the next meeting sometime in the future. I have hosted it twice at Reynolds Park Yacht Center in GCSs. Most likely we will do another in the fall. A good time was had by all.It might make a nice tradition...lolololol......i2f

Hi i2f,
Saw all the posts and was aware of the big get together but unfortunately came right in the middle of travel, survey and the other minor annoyances one has to deal with when buying a boat. Hopefully will be ready for next year.

skipmac,
Congradulations on the purchase, and yes purchasing a boat can be an ordeal. Especially if it's some distance away. If you are ever in the neighborhood. Stop by, and say hi.That goes for both of you.....i2f

Skipmac,
Hi. There are several slip openings at Fleming Island as far as I know. The rates are $9.80 per foot if you sign a 1 year contract. If you would rather go month to month it is $11.00 per foot. Electric is an additional $35.00 per month for 30 amp service.
The marina is having it's first cookout of the year this saturday. You are more than welcome to join us if you like. You can check out the marina and meet the owners and some of the patrons.
i2f,
I do believe we have met before. We were at the floating dock at Reynolds Park from summer '07 to spring '08 with our gulfstar 37. Good to hear from you and hope all is well.

David,
We remember someone on sailtime who was very interested in buying a pearson 365 at the time. Is that you? Either way hello and thanks for the welcome.
Mike and Paula,
Thanks for the welcome. We may be at Palm Cove Marina this saturday for a party they are hosting. That's right across the ditch from you. My sister and her boyfriend are from CT. They sail out of New London. Maybe we will get a chance to meet this weekend.
