Greetings from Hampton Roads, VA

My husband Scott and I are both active duty Navy Chiefs and starting to plan our retirement. I am an Information Systems Technician Senior Chief and have been in for almost 18 years and Scott is a Quartermaster Chief and has been in for 22 years. He has served as a navigator on the Landing Craft Air Cusion (LCACs) and Small Craft Officer In Charge on the Riverine Patrol Boats. He is currently working on his 200 ton Captain's license. Our Dream is to buy a Cat and cruise the Med. We have both lived in Italy and visited Spain, Malta, Greece, France, Portugal, Bahrain and the UAE. We love them all and would love to explore the rest. Ideally we would like to charter to supplement our retirement income and allow us to live the lifestyle we enjoy. We both love to entertain, cook and enjoy wine so this would be our B&B on the water. We look forward to the opportunity to learn from all of you!

Welcome aboard! Good to see a few other Navy here close to living the dream. I am a few years behind you both. I also have a similar plan to get a Captains license for delivery/charter possibilities later. Any information about your licensing education would be great. I was thinking of going through a local maritime school here.

Welcome aboard. We are starting our next career on the water as well. Starting in 2 days we will take possession of our sailing cat and explore the Caribbean for the next 6 months to obtain the knowledge we will need to do some charters next year. Good luck to you both in your adventures.
