Greetings from Dubai

Hello everyone, as I am nearing my retirement (early) I have decided to quit the Power brigade and go sailing for free instead. I am in the process of buying a ketch and wish to sail around Malaysia for a bit, langkawi is were I will be based, in between Dubai work, and wish to take the "Milk run" later after a year or so getting used to sailing. Looking forward to being an active member and friend to you all, so thanks for giving a little latitude to a new sail member, (already 1000nmiles as crew/watchkeeper) who has a lot to learn. Hugh

A warm welcome to you, Hugh! Hope you enjoy the Forum.

[p.s. if you think sailing is "free", you have a huge shock coming!]

Greetings and welcome aboard the CF, Hugh.

It’s good to have a “grownup” coming over from “the dark side” (power boats), and sailing into the “light’.

Is it true that Dubai is a good place to buy boats right now as a result of the recession?

Hey Hugh...welcome to the forum.
We're in Yemen and get to Dubai often.
Good luck with the boat buy.

Paying up to 1000$ every time you go out in a Power boat, sailing is free trust me...
