If you are looking for some more
experience, Calgarians are avid sailors. The Glenmore Sailing Club (
Glenmore Sailing Club - Calgary, Alberta) has one of the most active
San Juan 21 fleets around; they are often looking for crew. If you show up at the Heritage Park
boat launch on Wednesdays at about 5:00 - 5:30 with a
pfd, shoes and gloves you may just get a ride.
Beer and burgers to follow at the club house. At least three of the San Juans are owned by ISPA instructors. A couple of other instructors are crew.A couple of the
San Juan instructors are partners in a
Beneteau 36.7 which they
race out of Sidney.
The Foothills Association of Cruiser Sailors (
Foothills Association of Cruiser Sailors) meets once a month. They organize trips out on the coast as well as elsewhere.
The Calgary Yacht Club is at Chestermere, they also organize trips to the coast.
Just curious - with which
sailing school are you taking your lessons? I
work with a couple on the coast as well as one here in Calgary.
