Greetings fellow blowboaters

Greetings! By way of introduction, my wife, Josephine and our 6-month old son, William, sail throughout New England and Long Island Sound aboard our '99 Morris 40/42, 'KATHRYN' (Newport, RI). Previously, we owned a Bristol 33.3 and a Shields and prior to that, raced a J/24 on Smith Mountain Lake, VA for a dozen years.

It's always great to share my passion for the water and all things boat-related!

I, yes I, have re-dedicated myself to get Warchant in the water this coming years sailing season. " Lawn decoration " somehow doesn't feel right anymore. I have come to realize that the Ol' Cascade was a wonderfull find as a first boat. The reading I have done on this line of boats gives me pride in her lineage. Strong, capable, maybe not fast, but you do your part, she'll do hers'. I really lucked out ( serendipity ?) when I bought her. I believe she is probably way beyond what I will, through fear, NOT put her through. I have a decided tendency to grow feathers and turn chicken in times of decision making.
Therefore, I have dropped the Lawn Decoration signature, and put one there that describes the new viewpoint. She comes from a 50 - 60 year heritage, they've been to all parts of the globe. Reminds me of the ol' VW bug in a lot of ways.

Sounds like prudence to me. Lawyers might call it "due dilligence", Engineers "safety factor", Carpenters "measure twice, cut once" ... et al.

Yes, there is a varied bunch here. But we are all men and women of the cloth,enjoy a good yarn or two, and try to learn from each other in the process. Like an old Lazy boy recliner that's been "worn in",this board has a good feel to it.So,settle yourself in,and make yourself at home. Welcome!
