Greetings and Salutations ! (And Maybe a Little Help)

Hello all!
I am a newbie, currently searching for a sailboat. I will be at the South Herrington Marina on Tuesday October 25th at 4:00pm looking at a 31 footer. I am wondering if anyone is in the area that would be willing to have a look at this boat with me. If I like the boat I will have it surveyed before proceeding with purchase. I need a seasoned sailor's opinion and guidance as to whether this boat is worth pursuing. My e-mail is jonnygraversen@gmail.com. Thanks for taking the time to read this post. I look forward to learning from those more knowledgable than I.

Re: Greetings and Salutations! (and maybe a little help)

The boat I'm going to look at tomorrow is a 1974 31' Bombay Clipper in Friendship Maryland. My concern is: I'm sooo green I'm going to miss something obvious and waste money on surveying a boat that is not worth making an offer on. Any advice/tips? Thanks to all who welcomed me here.

Welcome Jonny...its a shame no one has steeped up to give you hand with this...it is short notice.
Perhaps if you get to the marina a couple hours early you may be able to strike up a "random" conversation with someone else with a boat there....if they're like me their curiosity will get the better of them and will join you for a looksy...
I know its a long shot but I'm a longtime believer these type of things happening if you believe it will....and you don't even have to click your heals together three times (but it does help)
Good luck with it and let us know how it goes...take lots of pictures!

Thanks James, that is a great idea. It is really short notice, it just occurred to me yesterday that I might be able to tap into the wealth of knowledge that exists on this site. I've been to look at a number of boats and I always feel like a fool, trying to take what I have read and been told and act like I know what I'm looking at. A very knowledgable friend has been guiding me, though he is underway,( living the dream). Thanks again, I will take your advice and show up early and see if I can drum up another set of eyes.
