Thumbs up Greetings all

Hello Everyone,

We are Bob and Dawn, 72 year old geriatrics who have just bought a 35 foot Catamaran (Kudana) and are cruising the Caribbean. Presently in Prickly Bay, Granada. Am thinking, after gaining some experience, of cruising back to South Africa next year. I must get an HF SSB rig installed first.

I am a radio Ham (ZS6FB)and intend using Ham Radio to its fullest extent. I need a bit of advise for fitting an internal ground plane in the yacht. I must look for the correct forum.

Keep well all. C U around.

Bob and Dawn

Welcome Bob & Dawn. Glad to see you here on the forum! I see you have also found the profile page!! There was and continues to be, interesting discussions on all aspects of ham radio and installations aboard a boat. Lots of opinions and lots of advice; most of it good, all of it good food for thought. Have fun looking around and feel free to jump right in. There is also a very active and lively multi-hull forum - should find lots of good info there.

Hello S/V Elusive, Delmarrey and Skiprjohn. Thanks for your warm welcomes. This sounds like quite a warm place to be, somewhat like the weather in the Caribbean :-)

Go well.

QRZ,

Hello Bob and Dawn , Sakubona - I also have just found this band of cruisers.
Coincidence, I am also a multihuller - used to deliver boats round the Cape of Storms - here is a good website for interest -
HF Radio at Sea

Another Coincidence , I have a very good friend Mary White also a Ham Yachtie KN6 0A, lost her boat SAPO in Prickly Bay Grenada during a storm.

If you are on a Carib net - give a call to Ketchup2 KD7 VVO - in your area now.
