Nice to meet all of you. I'm a young guy in my twenties. I've not sailed a day in my life (unless you count paying someone at the beach to take me out on a catamaran for an hour) and haven't driven a boat of any kind since my familysold our motorboat back when I was really young. For over a year, though, I've been craving the water and sailing is pretty much all I can think about. I figured this would be a nice place to learn a little more about sailing and how I might get started. Right now I'm looking to buy a small boat between 20 and 30 feet, as soon as I can afford one. Glad to be here and meet all of you and hopefully I'll have more interesting posts in the future!

Welcome here! Speaking as someone who started off life as a young person too, I'd highly recommend getting a Laser. It's fun, fast, simple and not too big and you will have a blast learning all the basics of sailing. And it is a great boat to sail around a harbor to look at your possible next boat purchase!
