Probably dating myself but I taught sailing for Les Alfred's
Jib Set
school of sailing quite a few years ago. Les is long since dead but I believe the
school lives on. We had a great cadre of experienced instructors hired for their knowledge and easy ways.
We had a fleet of
Cal 20's out of both Vancouver and Victoria.
There are also several sailing schools that run out of the lower mainland that offer overnight passages in the Straits of Juan de Fuca to prepare folks for overnight passages,
navigation,
safety during night sailing, watch standing and other issues that come up when not sailing on bright, sunny, windy days.
Hope this helps, cheers, Phil
