Good Afternoon

I have just joined the Forum. I sail aJeanneau SO 40 which we have owned since new in 2005 and it is nearly paid for now! I sail in the Med and live in England. My USP is that I know a fair bit now about Jeanneau SO boats having owned two from new (32.2 and 40) and being around charter clients (who always seem to have got themselves into a fix) in my home ports in Balerics and Spain have come to know a fair bit about the problems encountered with these type of yachts. Personally I have had every panel and screw and bolt out of my SO40 so I could put it back together with my eyes shut. I have sailed her about 10,000 miles and before her many more in other yachts. First started aged 8 dinghy sailing in Gulls, Cadets and then and OK class racing boat that I never got the hang of and went to cruisers in late 70s buying a Sillouette first, then a Westerly Jouster, Gibsea 77, Jeanneaus SO32.2 and now my 40. Wife Carolyn sails as well and although she is scared that I may die at sea with her on the boat she does ok! (vivid imagination and scared of the dark).
I am a cruiser and not a racer and I have to work a lot of hours to pay for sailing which takes nearly all of my money so we will never have any (according to my wife). We are mid 50s in age and think we are still 30. I will happily spend to have the boat maintained regardless of cost but I won't spend money taking us on a "proper holiday" that does not involve sailing because there is no point...waste of money and when I have a boat and time to spare I wanna be on it. That is about me - and the wife.
