Going Back to Mono - Selling Cat

Hi folks,
This is our first post to introduce ourselves
we are 10 year long "live aboards" currently in the Caribbean,
and part of a diminishing breed I think,

My partner and I are in the process of selling our 46ft FP Bahia Maestro(owners version) Catamaran and going back to our 45ft lead trailing mono ..... gasps in horror ...
and NO I cannot and do NOT really want to justify it .... lol

but probably because I am more of a traditionalist and sentimental than anything else, plus I never intended to become a fleet owner !!
(we still have both boats at present )

But glad to have found this forum and looking forward to reading the posts, from what we have seen so far, a great bunch of folks on here

Hope to hear from many of you soon
especially anyone wanting a good condition S/H Cat

Welcome and yes, everyone here is a great bunch with endless knowledge of everything when tapped. I would love to hear why the change as we are still debating between a CAT and a mono. Love both for different reasons. You can PM if you wish as it would be a great asset to my continuing research on our boat.

Thanks

G'day, and welcome to the Forum.

G'day. Welcome to the Cruisers' Forum.

You've probably noticed a little discussion regarding the merits of monos and multis. If you decide to join in please keep a cool head.

If you're thinking of putting your boat up for sale here please read our Cruisers Forum Community Rules carefully, particularly the "Classifieds posting rules".

We'd really like for you to share your experiences with us.

Good day every one.

many txs for the posts and PM's but like I mentioned
we "really" do not want to get embroiled in a CAT v MONO debate,

We have been fortunate enough to spend time on both
and subsequently have enjoyed the advantages
and suffered the disadvantages of both

both types of boats have their place and both have fervent loyal users,
I am a great believer in "horses for courses"
and having been on and around boats for over 50 years now,
I have "ridden" a few of thoses courses
(Mother Nature takes no prisoners !)

maybe if you check out our last post in the Forum "Classifieds"

iro "Don't just buy a boat ... Take over our DREAM LIFESTYLE"

This may answer some of the queries or questions you may have as to why we are selling our Cat and going back onboard our Monohull

My choice of literary "style" or "syntax" (or lack thereof ) in my first post
was due to me, just trying to get your attention,

like I mentioned we have only just found the forum,
having spent 24 hours now trawling the site,
it obvious it is a very active and effective meeting place for cruisers wordwide, so I probably need not have bothered

we are looking forward to many happy hours navigating this site

Once again, txs to everyone who sent welcome messages
and if we have not yet replied personally
please accept this post in lieu

Ciao

John & Shirley
