Talking Glad I Found This Place

Hi All,
I am really glad I stumbled onto this forum the other night while hoisting a few. It seems like it is full of info, and I look forward to learning a lot from reading the post. The wife and I have both been messing about in boats most of our lives, but have only been sailing about four years. We started with a Catalina 22, learned a lot, and then moved up to an Ericson 25+. We had planned on keeping her for a while but ended up being adopted by a Douglas 32, Ted Brewer design, and so she is now our current boat, and the one we are planning to cruise in when I retire in 3 1/2 years. She may be a little old, and the storage may leave a little to be desired, but we are almost 80% through a complete refit, and I trust the boat to take me out and bring me back.
Looking forward to learning a lot from this board.

Thanks,
Jim & Terry

Welcome aboard neighbor,

I live in WNC.I've always enjoyed the Charleston area, and have been to Mt.Pleasant many times.I trailered my 26 footer down to Charleston in the early 90's to sail out and watch the start of the BOC race.We had a great time! Three and a half years to retirement, huh? You've got it made! I'm not familiar with your Douglas 32, but I know Ted Brewer has a lot of nice designs.Maybe you could post a picture of her? Anyway, welcome aboard, and I'm sure I speak for everyone here by saying that we're glad you found your way here too!

Hi Stede,
You can find out most anything about the Douglas 32 if you go to http://home.covad.net/~bghouse/Douglas/
This is the owners group web site.
