DavidHoy, thanks for your input. Proposed the VIP area because it is set up as a meet and greet venue and offers a good value IMO. Open to other venues too though, whatever is best by consensus is fine.

Best sailboat venue is at the Miami show, Lauderdale is mostly megayachts and smaller power vessels.

How about somewhere nearby like Lulu's Bait Shack at Beach Place? They have great mojitos . Or somewhere near the convention center? I suspect I'll be spending more time there looking for upgrades for my existing boat than getting envious of all the shiny new floating palaces.

Yeah, my point exactly, I'm one of those "cheap sailboaters" .

Agreed, Strictly Sail in Miami is much better for blowboaters like me. But since I live in Fort Lauderdale, I can easily get to both shows. Planning to spend more time at the convention center than the docks anyway. My boat is docked within easy walking distance of the convention center, so easy access too.
Speaking of which, if the group is not too large, I could host a small get together on my boat

Looks like I am going to the boat show today.
Got a couple of free tickets for cheap sailboaters
Planning on early afternoon.

Will do Tellie.
What products are you selling?
I am in the market for SS cleats and a few other smaller items.

It would be great to finally meet you CSY Man. I'm just selling Spectra watermakers but please stop by and say "Hi" anyway.

Show is still on of course but it has probably been the slowest show I've seen. We're by show rules not allowed to pack up early. I've talked to a few vendors and a few large boat brokers I know and have dealt with for years and it seems the consensus is that Tuesdays election is having a big influence on the buyers. One large sport fishing boat company has taken two deposit checks that are post dated with the instructions that they are or are not to be cashed until the results are in. It's just crazy.

I'm glad I saw this before I head on over to the show. Ask for me by name, J.T. I'm at the Bahi Mar side, if you go there first give me a call on my cell (954) 515-7077 and let me know if you need a couple of tickets to get in and I'll come out and meet you at the entrance with a couple.
Same for you CSY Man. Give me a shout.
