I was with them since around 2000 for approx 15 years, paid my
fees, their reminders were timely and courteous, questions were answered promptly and properly. Their
documentation was good. But...... I never had to make a claim.
I am not sure what the golden standard is (in Australia). Is it Club Marine? Maybe the old saying (in all its iterations) applies here too.
1.
Cheap insurance
2. Good
service
3. Full payout on claims
One can have only 2 out of 3 elements.
There are other companies, like Topsail
Topsail Insurance Australia | Marine Insurance Specialists - Topsail Insurance PTY Ltd
Their
fees are generally, I think, in between Edward William and Club Marine. For the
record, I am with Club Marine.
Added on edit:check Lisa Blair's website (sailing around the Antartic, dismasted South of South Africa), she was insured with Edward William, had a claim and they looked after her.
