Currently in the PNW

Can I come in?
Been lurking this list for years now and thought I better get involved. I'm a sailboat driver/livaboard currently halfway up vancouver island. Right now I'm on my Truant 33 pilothouse sloop and I wander aimlessly up and down the coast. Hope to contribute/receive from this fine list.

Welcome Bilgewater! We are new here too. Also in the PNW sailed up from Hawaii in '07, cruised up into the San Juans, stayed at Friday Harbor for a year and cruised into the Channel Islands and are now in Seattle topping off he kitty.

Vega, Thanksmuch. I've seen your threads on other lists. I'm sure you don't mean your topping up your cat...I hope yer feedn' the little critter daily.
I'm doing the same thing "toppin up the kitty". Soon I'm heading up toward Rupert, probably toward the end of the March. Work sure gets in the way of cruising.

Sure hope you venture up this way before leaving the wet coast.

Our current plans are to remain based at Shilshole until spring 2010 as Laura has a commitment here until January. We will be attending the 9th Annual VEGAtarian Rendezvous in July 2009 at Friday Harbor. You and anyone else interested in joining the party are cordially invited to attend (Viking helmet and battleaxe optional). When we leave here in 2010 we hope to go up the inside passage to Alaska then South to Mexico before Winter.

See ya out there!

Aloha Bilge,
Had some friends staying at Campbell River in their green hulled Fuji 45 named "Pacific Voyager" a couple years back. They really liked the area. They are now in Mexico.
Welcome aboard!
Kind regards,
JohnL

Hi,
Can I echo the welcome already given? Jealous of the cruising area you've got around you - one day we WILL get there!
Cheers
JOHN

Thanks for the warm welcome John. Ya it's pretty nice cruising grounds here and this winter has been particularly good. Lot's of screeming winds and mild temps, but sometimes the weather really gets nasty at this time of year.

Your neck of the woods is great too. I've watched the DVD "Stormy weather, the amazing race around Britian" about a million times, one of my favorites. I see Egypt in your blog...one of the places I would absolutely love to visit by boat. My brother went down the Nile on a barge (not quite the same as sail) and had a great time.
