Cruising Liveaboard

Hi everyone,

Im chad from florida and I'm thinking of buying a sailboat and becoming a live aboard sailor sometime in the near future. Planning on purchasing a 32-42ft sailboat that will be paid for. I would like some insights on monthly cost. I plan to just anchor in places for awhile to avoid monthly fees on slips to cut down on expenses. What exspenses should i be ready for and how much.

Got tons of questions later.

Re: Cruising liveaboard

Chad, as GordMay says, do a search of the Forum, including the Cruising on $500 a month. Boat repairs, food, diesel, insurance if you are so inclined, are all high on the list. Communications, by phone or email are often expensive. Renting a car or somewhere to put your car are also an expense. Your mileage may differ.

Welcome aboard! I'm in the same boat you're in (pun sorta intended) and CF is a great resource, just don't forget about the search function and you'll be fine.
