Cruisers Forum Neophyte!

Hello all,

Been reading the forum for a few years and saving for a mid sized livaboard sailboat. I'm getting closer to my goal amount that I think is enough to buy a sound vessel and have a strong rainy day fund. Thus, I am finally dipping my toes into the community!

I'm 29 yrs old. I live in hotels about 295 days a year because of my job. I'm currently a survey pilot but I am working towards the regional airlines. I'm based out of Jacksonville Fl but I stay with family on SSI ga when I'm not working.

TL;DR
Hey! New to the community, saving for a boat, getting close, travel for work, based in jax/SSI

Welcome to the forum. I'm not far. Based in Gainesville, keep the boat in Green Cove Springs.

Wow small world! I lived in Orange Park, just north of Doctor's Lake, a few months ago. I used to drive to the marinas in that area after work and daydream about buying my own boat. I haven't been to that marina but I'll check it out next time I'm in town.

Welcome.

I would suggest updating your profile with “Looking” in the "Boat" category. This info shows up under your UserName in every post in the web view. Many questions are boat and/or location dependent and having these tidbits under your UserName saves answering those questions repeatedly. If you need help setting up your profile then click on this link: https://www.cruisersforum.com/forums...ml#post3308797

I would happily help more if the link above is not enough.

Welcome to the community Marshll47. Along with some others, I am also a member of the Jacksonville community. When the time comes and you find yourself considering a purchase, send me a pm and I'll be glad to help you evaluate a vessel if it's in our area.
