Cheers

Greetings to everyone from a first time user of any forum on the internet, but considering by love of sailing figured this should be the forum I start with. I've been sailing for over 30 years starting with a Hobbie 16, then built a New Zealand "trailer 21", graduated to a Niagra 26, then a Ticon 30, followed by a Ted Hood 38 which I sailed in Florida, Cuba, Mexico and Belize before selling. I'm now a fresh water sailer in Georgian Bay on a Hunter 41DS, and am constantly looking for the next boat which should be my retirement boat (I hope) and will take me to far off places. Currently think that the Island Packet 485, and Tayana 48DS, or even the 52 would be at the top of my list. Would love to hear comments from owners.

Saludos

Welcome abaord. This is a great forum. The boats are have short listed are good strong cruisers with lots of miles under their keels.

Aloha,
Welcome aboard!! Are you going to retire with a big family?

I've sailed a Celestial 46, a Cal 2-46 and been aboard to Fuji 45s and in my point of view they are just plain too big. Just my personal opinion.

The forum has had this discussion before and I know it is all a matter of personal taste but if it were me I would downsize.

Glad to have you here and look forward to your posts. You've got lots of experience and I'd certainly like to hear your opinions on many of the subjects.

Kind Regards,
JohnL
