Re: buying first cruiser

Welcome to CF Doug. Of all our boats I think our Pearson was my favorite! Congrats and post pictures!

Buying First Cruiser

Our previous boat was a Pearson 28. Tiller, a 10 hp single cylinder Bukh raw water cooled diesel, 204 phrf, 6 gallon tank if I remember correctly (filled it up once in 3 years, sailed on and off the mooring every weekend April-October). Never did any repairs on that boat; only thing that ever went wrong in the 3 years of ownership was a battery had to be replaced (so I added a little 15 watt solar as a maintainer). Was bare bones but totally wonderful. Slow, a bit crowded, but was good to us.

Re: Buying First Cruiser

I think the Universal is a Kubota based engine. Great little engines too.

Re: Buying First Cruiser

Hey there! We just brought our Aloha 34 down to the coast via the Tennesee-Tombigbee river. We left out of Knoxville. Where at on the TN river is your boat?
