Brand new to the world of sailing

I am brand new to the sailing world having just taken my first sailing lesson with my wife back in Oct of 2013. I have developed such an interest in sailing that it seems to be all that is on my mind. Although I do not have a boat of my own as of yet I know that with such an interest in this lifestyle as I have, that it will not be long before I do. I hope that by subscribing to this forum that I will not not make new friends in the sailing community but also continue to gain valuable knowledge into the world of sailing. Thank you for any help you can give me in the future and I'm looking forward to being part of this community.

Welcome aboard! New to sailing as well, and also to boat ownership.

Actually located in Little Rock Arkansas. Probably not a location that most people would associate sailing with but they do have a small sailing club here which is where I took my first two lessons at. I'm afraid that this is more speed boat and pontoon boat country but I just happen to have more of an interest in sailing.

Re: Brand new to the world of sailing

Sailing is on my mind quite a bit too. I live in TN and my boat is in KY. Like you said, it's speed, fishing, motor, house and pontoon boats. Thankfully, the lake my boat is at has plenty of sailboats too.

Welcome to the group. Anytime a question comes to your mind, research it here on the group. Lots of things have been discussed already and may answer what you are thinking about. Plenty of boats of all sizes are available all over the place.

Have fun!

Aloha and welcome aboard!
Good to have you here.
Wherever you sail or power you are certainly most welcome to provide input to this forum and to ask questions if you have any.
