Brand new and kinda lost here

Sheesh , can't even find my way to edit my profile stuff. I'm using the iPad app here. We just bought a 44 islander sailboat and are going to be living aboard and cruising full time in July 2012. This forum looks like there might be a wealth of info available , if I get the hang of finding what I'm looking for

Hi.

Don't worry, it becomes easier to use when you use it a bit

Lots of good info here - worth perservering and putting up with the shortcomings / the retro approach to the internet.

Re: Brand new and kinda lost here

Not sure if iPad apps are different from WIndows apps, but there should be a UserCP button up on the top menu bar. From there you should find a list of things on the left to play with. Start with 'Your Profile', and you can edit your details. If you add a profile picture, that will appear on your home page. It is different from your avatar, which is lower down the list, under 'Settings and Options'

Hope this helps - it's a little time consuming at first, but once you get used to it, it's easy as pie!!

Thanks saucy. Looks like it is different on an iPad. Stumbled my way to those settings , and they are all frayed out on iPad. Guess I,ll have to find my way back there from my PC later

I use the iPhone app, but for profile updates etc. I have to go to safari and use the standard web interface.

Aloha and welcome aboard!
Good to have you here. I've had a time of it finding my way through this just on my PC. I can't imagine trying to use another tool. Not many new tricks for this old dog.
kind regards,

Welcome to CF SVSilvergirl. It is a bit confusing but as Mark said it gets easier with use.
